If you know what you like, you know what you like… and for some people, they don’t like everything. We have healthy cooking ideas for picky eaters, and yes, you… adult picky eaters too! 

So, how do picky eaters eat healthy? What is the best diet for picky eaters? And what should a picky eater do for dinner?

Picky eaters typically like really simple foods like toast, plain pasta, and french fries. They don’t like spicy or sour, but do okay with salty or sweet foods.

To create a healthy diet for picky eaters, start by mixing familiar foods with new ones — so they aren’t too overwhelmed by all of the new favors. For example, use a sauce they already love (like a pesto) and swap out the traditional pasta noodles with a chickpea, protein-packed pasta. Alternate similar foods like protein pancakes (made with eggs and banana) or similar experiences … instead of croutons in a salad, get a crunch through cucumber.

Stick to your grocery list, and yes, that means cook at home. Stop buying speciality brands, and stick to wholesome, healthy ingredients. You’ll also want to meal prep, so that “leftovers” are really just easy, ready-to-go meals for later. 

What to cook for under $10?

There are countless recipes to cook for under $10. Anything that has a base of pasta, rice, beans, potatoes, or veggies can be very affordable.
