As much as we would like to, the reality is we can’t just show up to paradise with a bottle of sunscreen and a swimsuit and be good to go.

So you’re headed somewhere with colder weather. There’s nothing like vacationing in a winter wonderland or spending the week skiing at your favorite mountain resort. However, packing for a cold destination can be difficult. It is hard to keep your luggage lean and lightweight while still fitting in all the important layers and gear you need. 

Our two biggest life hacks for keeping your luggage light are to wear your heaviest clothes on the plane, and to use compression bags to bring down the size of your larger items like coats and pants. Say goodbye to overweight baggage fees!
